The Swoop Suit is an RW suit that is named after swooping (during freefall, not under canopy). This is the action of a skydiver swooping (diving) down and braking at the appropriate altitude.

The Swoop Suit is our most versatile RW suit because of all the options to adjust the fall-rate. With one suit, it is possible to change the fall rate from a fast fall, with spandex forearms and a disengaged swoop cord; to a slow fall, with slip on sleeves and an engaged swoop cord. It is not necessary to get spandex sleeves and slip on's if a slower fall rate is intended.

Swoop Cords effectively enhance breaking by creating a rigid wing. These cords loop over the hands and run along the inner seam of the suit to the waist. The swoop cords are tightened with full arm extension (upon braking), creating an instant wing only when you need it. To avoid this wing being engaged when reaching for a grip, we offer the "continuous swoop cord" which is one continuous line that reaches down one side, across the back at the hip, and up to the other side.

Fabric Selection

The Swoop Suit is our medium fall-rate RW suit because there is spandex only down the center of the back.

This allows for slower fabric along the sides of the back, such as supplex or 4-ply, which creates a slightly fitted suit with the range for a slower fall.

Cordura is the most popular fabric to get for the booties because this also includes the knees, which is important area to protect from wear over time.

Ballistic is a stiffer, heavier material and is reported to be more responsive in the air.

If you would like more information on our fabrics, please click HERE.

We also offer the Vented Bootie. This bootie has a lining on the inside allowing it to inflate upon leg extension. This is available for the Regular and Mega booties, this new style is not recommended for light weight jumpers.

If you would like more information on selecting the right bootie for your style, please click HERE.

Slip-On Sleeves are made from supplex or 4-ply and only cover the forearms. These are used to add drag.

Check out our CHART to see if the Swoop Suit is the right suit for your fall rate!

If you don't want to buy a whole suit, try a Multi Suit! For the skydiver that needs a quick wardrobe change to meet the needs of different disciplines, fall-rates, or jobs; the Multi Suit pairs four different styles of jackets to any of our pants or shorts. For more information: Multi Suit

We have a large showroom with suits in a wide variety of sizes. If you would like to see if we have a suit that fits you, please check it out: Tony Suits' Showroom
