R-Bird 2 - General Flocking Performance

The R-Bird 2 (RB2) has to be the most popular first-owned wingsuit. This wingsuit has a funny origin-story (you can read more about in the blog) because it was designed and built to be a beginner competition wingsuit. However, it performs so well that it was banned from that category and can only be used in the Advanced competition level. But don't let that drive scare you, there's a reason that everyone get's the R-Bird 2 as their first-owned wingsuit, it's a great all-around wingsuit that will take you where you need to go. It's got the spped when you need to go fast, the performance when you need to move, and the balance for flocking and back-flying.

Design

The arm wing design has been optimized to increase surface area whilst keeping the suit light and intuitive to fly. The leg wing size is moderate, the stance is wider but without being an uncomfortable. The wing profile has been selected to work well in both orientations as well as at steep angles and with most of the lift coming from close to the body is less tiring on long flights

The R-bird 2 is for pilots interested in flocking & fun flying but also in performance and BASE looking for a suit that is easy to use and fly.

Highlights

The R-bird 2 is aimed at advanced pilots interested in flocking & fun flying but also in performance and for BASE jumpers looking for a suit that is easy to use and fly. The R-bird 2 is also great for back flying and acrobatics thanks to improved wing shaping.
